CSR Initiatives
Charles Group is a socially responsible corporate citizen, Led by Mr. Jose Charles Martin. With over Rs 200 Crores generously donated, including contributions from the parent company, our objective is to creating a positive impact. From sponsoring the education of economically disadvantaged students to launching satellites and providing aid during natural disasters, reflecting its commitment to creating a better world.
Education (₹ 85 Crores)
- - Sponsored 800+ government school students across India.
- - Donated ₹ 15 Crores to the JANA SEVA Trust (Education) for educational infrastructure projects.
- - Granted ₹ 21 Crores to Anant National University, Gujarat, India's first DesignX University.
- - Designed and constructed the Koundampalayam Government Corporation Middle School, Coimbatore with modern facilities at a cost of ₹ 7 Crores.
- - Contributed ₹ 2 Crores to Thiruvadanai Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram District.
- - Contributed ₹ 1.36 Crores to Thiruvadanai Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram District.
- - Donated ₹ 1.25 Crores to Somanur Government School, Coimbatore District.
- - Contributed approximately ₹ 8 Crores (2020–2024) towards scholarships for underprivileged students in schools and colleges.
- - Donated ₹ 80 Lakhs to the Dorcas Research Centre for Education, Arts and Culture for Women with Disabilities in support of its Livelihood Training Initiative.
- - Donated ₹ 10 Lakhs towards tables, benches, and an RO water system for the Maruthamalai Government Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore.
- - Contributed ₹ 4 Crores to the Indo Swiss Centre of Excellence (ISCE), Pune for the construction of a state-of-the-art 300-seat Multi-Purpose Auditorium.
Technology (₹ 8 Crores)
- - 2021: Launch of 100 Femto Satellites developed by school students.
- - 2023: Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Satellite Launch Vehicle Mission with a payload of 150 PICO satellite research experiment cubes.
- - 2024: Mission Rhumi – India's first reusable hybrid rocket launch, with participation from 5,000+ students across India.
Public Infrastructure (₹ 7.59 Crores)
- - Contributed over ₹ 7 Crores for a state-of-the-art Digital Optic Fibre Network Platform to improve the infrastructure of Coimbatore.
- - Contributed ₹ 11.50 Lakhs towards ANPR Cameras for the Tiruvannamalai Police Department.
Sports (₹ 4.97 Crores)
- - Sponsored ₹ 3 Lakhs to Srinithi Malavika, a shotgun shooter representing India in the World Shooting Championship.
- - Donated ₹ 50 Lakhs to the Nagaland CM Sports Fund.
- - Sponsored the travel expenses and sportswear for athletes participating in the Asian Athletic Track and Field Meet.
- - Contributed over ₹ 3 Crores towards the Modern Pythian Games to support arts, culture, and traditional games.
- - Sponsored ₹ 25 Lakhs to the Covelong Arun Vasu Foundation for training the Indian Surfing Team.
Healthcare (₹ 23.15 Crores)
- - Sponsored treatments and surgeries for students and staff.
- - Sponsored treatment and medication for AIDS patients.
- - Sponsored 400 artificial limbs in the Philippines through the Rotary Club.
- - Donated ₹ 5 Crores to the Sri Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) Trust, Tirupati for advanced medical equipment, including a CT Scan.
- - Donated ₹ 80 Lakhs annually to the Shelter for the Disabled, operated by the Dorcas Research Center for Arts, Education, and Culture for Disabled Women, supporting livelihood initiatives such as gym and embroidery training.
- - Contributed ₹ 40 Lakhs towards the salaries of 40 frontline nursing staff serving in remote ICU wards across Nagaland for one year.
- - Contributed ₹ 60 Lakhs in support of the frontline nurses of Manipur, recognizing their dedication and exceptional service.
- - Contributed ₹ 40 Lakhs to HelpAge India for the Elderly Rehabilitation Program.
Social Development (₹ 79.70 Lakhs)
- - Sponsored drinking water desalination plants.
- - Funded the construction of buildings for the Fathima Church.
- - Donated rice and essential supplies to old age homes and needy individuals.
- - Donated ₹ 10 Lakhs towards the welfare and empowerment of widowed women from minority communities.
Cultural Heritage & Tourism (₹ 7.31 Crores)
- - Partnered with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) to develop a Baggage Management IT System worth ₹ 2 Crores.
- - Contributed ₹ 16.5 Lakhs to enhance the cultural beauty of the Maruthamalai Subramaniya Swamy Temple.
- - Renovation work on the West Tower of the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple is underway at a cost of ₹ 1.45 Crores.
- - Contributed ₹ 1.53 Crores towards the gold-plated copper work of the East Sanctum Tower at Arulmigu Angalaparameshwari Temple, Choolai, Chennai.
- - Donated ₹ 32.75 Lakhs for the Rajagopuram and Gold Kalasam of the Sri Subramaniya Swamy Temple, Maruthamalai, Coimbatore.
- - Constructed the Murugan Temple at Piranmalai, Sivagangai, at a cost of ₹ 1.85 Crores.
Environment & Animal Husbandry (₹ 2.60 Crores)
- - Planted 30 lakh seed balls for a greener and brighter future.
- - Donated over ₹ 1.3 Crores towards Animal Husbandry for cattle feed through the Satguru Charitable Trust.
- - Contributed ₹ 50 Lakhs towards restoring the Kousika River, a vital waterway originating in the Western Ghats and flowing through Coimbatore District.
- - Contributed ₹ 50 Lakhs towards the restoration of the 48.25 km Narayanan Canal in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, benefiting over 500,000 residents across 455 villages.
Disaster Relief (₹ 18 Crores)
- - Donated ₹ 1 Crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
- - Donated ₹ 5 Crores to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
- - Provided relief materials worth over ₹ 3 Crores to support victims of the Gaja Cyclone, Chennai Floods, and Kerala Floods.
- - Donated ₹ 2 Crores towards the Wayanad Landslide Relief Fund.
- - Contributed ₹ 7 Crores for food and essential supplies benefiting 70,000+ families affected by Cyclone Fengal across Puducherry, Viluppuram, and Cuddalore.
